My first day as a volunteer

One Day One Goal

I have decided to write parts of my blogs in english too, if someone who doesn't read norwegian also wants to read my blog. The girls we were supposed to photograph were as young as 12 up to little above 20. They had so much energy and sparkle of life in them, that it was impossible not to get in a good mood while beeing with them. One little girl came over and, she was really curious about where I came from, and what I did, and she also eagerly told me about herself. Everything she said was in spanish, so of course, I didn't understand much. But I understood a little, and she made me feel very welcome with her sincereness. She even managed to say My name is.. Magdalena I think her name was, but I am not quite sure. They pronounce the names quite differently from what I am used too, so it is difficult to say. Very charming little girl, she will definately brake a couple of boy-hearts while growing up.
"Follow the white ball!"

I liked the idea of how the organisation teaches the girls to value themselves, and also teach them what possibilities they have in the future. But these argentinian girls don't play the type of girl football I am used too from Norway. No, no, they tackled, they tackled HARD! It was amazing to see that even when they fell in the pavement, they rose up after a little while and didn't shed one little tear. They probably could have beaten me up if they wanted too. "Follow the white ball!" said Caro the coordinator. And so we did!
Volunteer photographers: Sav, Vida and Hilde.

The happy footballers
Still following the white ball. These girls play for a wonderful thing; peace.

Two more footballers. Magdalena(?) is the one to the left.
